ASL, promoted by TATA Group, is engaged in the design and development of Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers. ASL provides system solutions using GPS technology in the areas of Navigation, Differential GPS, Timing Applications, etc.

WORK SUMMARY:

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) (achievements are marked with * ):

ACC extends the conventional cruise control by enabling the vehicle to automatically flow with the other vehicles in dense traffic while keeping a safe distance, without any driver intervention.

+ (*) Successfully coordinated the work from customer's location at Stuttgart, Germany to team at RBIN which resulted in greater volume of high quality of work flow to team at RBIN with complete customer satisfaction.

+ (*) Developed new concept of Non-Volatile Memory Update Manager (
patent application under scrutiny) and successfully implemented it.

+ (*) Helped customers in defining technical coordination model, milestones of different larger software components and in implementation of quality processes.

+ Active participation in requirements definition discussions and new architecture definition discussions.

+ Were involved in successful development of modules related to Platform Software of ACC such as Process Control Unit, Long Range Radar scheduler, etc. The Software Development Life Cycle is followed in the development or execution of every module.

+ Lead the team of three people for development of different modules. The On-Time Delivery Quotient and Defect-Free Delivery Quotient were rated as 100%.

Dashboard System:

Dashboard System is a part of the modern Integrated Cockpit Electronics (ICE) in automobiles. The Electronic Control Unit (ECU) of Dashboard System collects and process all the information required from various sensors and other Electronic Control Units (ECUs).

+ Two modules were handled while working on Dashboard System:

- Design review and Testing of Blinker Module (Live module for training)
- Thermal Oil Level Indicator (Were involved in all the phases of SDLC)

Global Positioning System (GPS):

GPS is a satellite navigation system designed to provide instantaneous position, velocity and time information almost anywhere on the globe at any time, and in any weather.

+ Achievements involve developing the Differential GPS interface and implementing the Indian Grid Reference System and Message Output Time Synchronization.

+ Involved in the development of Navigation Planning Software and developed GPS-PC Communication Interface on GPS Receiver.

EDUCATION:

+ Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computer Science and Engineering from Adichunchanagiri Institute of Technology, Chikmagalur, Karnataka (Kuvempu University) with 67.28% marks in 1998.

+ B.E. Project: Development of a Graphics Library for CDAC (Center for Development of Advanced Computing), Bangalore

+ Seminar: Microprocessor Architecture, Intel 8086
+ Important Courses in B.E.: Microprocessors, C Programming and 8086 Assembly Language
